That would be a nice buck for anyone, especially a first buck. He's close, but I think he's legal. He looks like he has a pretty big body and neck and I think that's making his rack look a little narrower than it really is. I definitely understand not taking a chance.
Well I don't know how this happens but everything played out like a story. I got the 10 this morning. Single lung hit with my sons 223. He was quartering away looking at feeder for doe at 7:15. We didn't get up until 6:15 (buddy said I hit snooze several times) and there were bucks eating corn I threw out day before when we climbed in blind. Tracked it 220 yards and trail ran out. Wonder why... I walked by him twice!
I don't think so. I don't think he was breathing when he went it in since blood stopped about 15 yards away and it was every few feet for the whole blood trail. When the trail stopped we looked all around for 20 minutes. I looked in the tank but didn't know he walked further and fell off an embankment. Pretty cool I thought.
