I have a few more Bucks I need to be taken this year. These are HF WT that have not been fed protein. They are good Hill Country type Deer. Price is $100 per point over 1" long up to 8 points. 9 points or more are $150 per point. So to make it easy. A 8 point Buck is $800. A 10 point Buck is $1500 There are no other charges. I will take you to a blind and you decide what you want to take. If you hunt 2 days and do not take anything you owe me $250. If you hunt one day and do not take anything you owe me nothing. You will see Bucks. If you do not take anything it is only because you want something that is not here. I have a small cabin you can stay in. It has a toilet and cook stove. No shower. And a terrific view of this area. I have a place where you can work on your Deer. If you want there is a person near here that has a cooler and will do what ever you want with you Deer. If you are interested let me know and we will see about a time you and I would be available. Thanks, Donald

Thanks to both of you for the kind words. If a person thinks he is going to get a 130 plus inch Buck here don't waste your or my time. But I would would doubt you will find a better deal any where. I raise Ibex and every year I need to thin out the Whitetails so these Deer are not pampered but are what average WT Bucks look like in this area. And John, I got back from Coushatta with a few dollars left in my wallet so whenever you want to meet for breakfast let me know.

My son has had a couple of fantastic hunts with Don. It’s a beautiful ranch, neat canin and tons of deer. Don is as honest as they come. This is a far cry from a typical day hunt.

I agree I’ve been there several times. Quality blinds, plenty of deer, and Don is a first class kind of guy

Thanks John. Catchy phrase. Hope you and your hunts are doing well. Bucks kinda slowed down on the chasing the last few days but this norther should set them off again.

I went on this hunt last Thursday 11/8/18. Met Don the night before and got me set up at camp. Cold front was suppose to get there but seemed delayed. I had a hour of light left on Wednesday night and Don instructed me that a stand was a couple hundred yards away from the cabin if I wanted an early start If not he would be by at 5:45 am to get me. Got unloaded and headed to the blind. Feeder had already gone off by time I got there and I spooked a few off when I arrived. A lone 8 point came in late and decided to pass. The next morning was a little bit cooler and cloudy. Don put me and my stand and said call when you got one. He left and there was about 30 minute wait for legal light. A few minutes later an ol boss doe must have smelled me because Dons blinds leave you pretty concealed but she snorted at me for the next 10 minutes before tiring, she finally made it by the feeder and laid down to wait for breakfast. It was getting light enough to make out deer and from the left walked out a really wide 8 point it stopped briefly by the feeder then spooked to the right. Judging by the quick glimpse that I got he appeared to be about 18" wide. He was still in sight and I debated if I was going to shoot the first thing I saw but he he was gone before I ever put my gun up. The feeder went off at 7:10 and things started to happen fast. Another nice eight came in again from the left then another doe, Then from the right came the wide 8 again. Not bad I thought as I started sizing the arrivals with increasing light. Again I noticed more movement from the left and out came two more 8's and a solid 10. Decisions decisions, I studied the first and third 8 points and the 10 point hard. The Third 8 point had the best looking horns and seemed to be the largest body with the 10 being close or maybe better. I decided upon the 8 point as I stuck my Sako FinnWolf out the blind. He gave me a perfect broadside shot and I delivered the 308 power point right behind the shoulders. The buck lunged and took off directly away from me and made his way out of sight. The rest of the deer went in all directions. I waited for 30 minutes before going to retrieve my buck as I watched a few Gobblers make there way thru the woods and ducks come and go from a small pond to the right of the feeder. True to form I followed the blood trail roughly about 30 yards to find him piled up just about where he went out of sight. The 8 point was big bodied and had a 16" inside spread. He took all me and Don had to get him in the Kubota. What A great hunt 4 out of the 5 bucks that came in would have made a great animal to harvest. I'm looking to go back out there so was hesitant to write this up but Don is a heck of a host, his ranch is beautiful, there are plenty of deer to choose from and I cant wait to get back if he has any hunts left available. I did catch a glimpse of his Ram Ibex and host of smaller Ibex and a herd of Blackbucks. Thanks again Don for having me out there hope to see you again soon

Super buck for $800 Did you happen to weigh that buck? Curious what one like that weights down there.

Great write up also.

Thanks for the kind words James and you too John. I don't pressure anyone on what they can or can not take. I leave them alone in the stand and what they decide to try for is entirely up to them..

Won't find a more square and simple deal than that. If I wasn't on a lease I'd be there every year.
