Hi, need suggestions, this gun will be used on hogs, occasional deer.
My experience was with Varget in bolt action rifles. Also done reloading for AR15 .223
What to watch for in AR10? Preference to use IMR4895 - I have plenty of it.

150 or 165 cup and core bullet
4895 should work quite well

Nothin too special about loading for an AR10. Just make sure your OAL is short enough to go in your mag.

IMR-8208 and a 155 gr Sierra TMK.

Works great on hogs and coyotes.

I like the Sierra HPBT for the AR10. It has no soft point to get deformed as it loads into the chamber. great performance on game too.

Yes I did HPBT 175gr in my bolt rifle, with good shoot placement 200+lb pigs were just falling down legs up lifeless.

Lead tip bullets were getting mangled in my magazines, so I switched to Hornady SST's with the plastic tips and have had great luck.

I shoot 180's over 44.5 grains of varget and my gun likes them quite well. I load mine just barely short enough to fit in the mag....

I shoot the same load out of my .308 bolt guns as well. (Tuned it for my AR10, but all my .308's like it).

How primers look like during hot summer days? Or multiple shots, barrel hot? ( even I know Varget is less temp sensitive)
