The report I received from my place was pretty dim as well. I'll go several times but just to keep the dogs nose into it. I'll have a shotgun for snakes and hogs. I know 80% of quail don't survive the winter but if I don't take any that 80% will come from a larger number.

I'm having trouble with the link. He did report that the Panhandle has decent numbers this year.
