Deer coming to feeders well, that will change as the rut starts, a few days prior to a few days after.
On our places the young bucks are trying, doe's having none of it. Older bucks just starting to spar a little, no actual fights some pushing & shoving, often seen in bachelor groups.
I saw at least 35 deer opening day of rifle season while checking cows, feeding & putting out hay, had 2 bucks & 3 doe with fawns one set of twins watching me clean out a water gap from 50 - 85 yards away Saturday evening when I heard my wife shoot.
She killed one of the bucks we wanted to go, 7 point single crab claw 15.5" wide 4 year old, good size body.
Sunday I didn't see any bucks dozen or so doe, wife was checking on the calves we are weaning she saw 5 doe with some fawns & 2 young scraggly bucks.
Monday seemed things were returning to normal, took her quarters to Kuby's for sausage.
Monday around 2 pm neighbor's wife killed a big bodied ugly racked 6 point, 2 points on one side no brow tine, 4 on the other 1.5" brow tine.
NW neighbor in Baylor county. Same story, I saw 3.5 year old bucks wearing the young doe out last weekend. No older boys chasing yet, and doe aren’t slowing down for the young boys.
Saturday evening west of Newcastle, bucks were chasing does like crazy. Sunday they acted like they could care less. We saw lots of movement both days.
Young bucks have been chasing the does here just south of Graham. Not seeing any older bucks just several young bachelor groups. They been hitting hitting the feeders on regular basis.

Same here. It's like someone turned OFF a light switch the past few days though.

Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.
Still have the same group of bucks coming in. No shooters but a couple of good future prospects if they make it. One of them is already a nice eight but to young for me to shoot. I’m sure one of the neighboring properties will take care of him though.
Last Saturday we saw a few young bucks wondering around by themselves and had a group of does come into the feeder pen and a great looking young 9 point and a young 8 point following them around but no big boys chasing. I'm hoping the weather change will have them moving this weekend.
Young County was very kind to us today. Three guys on our lease (including me) got some pretty nice bucks this morning. Nothing like a 29 degree morning to finally get them moving. After several sits of seeing nothing but hogs and young bucks, it was nice to see this 10 pt. walk in. It took me all of 3 seconds to decide to shoot him. He ran about 10 yards and then off the end of a cliff, and then dropped about 30 ft to the bottom of a ravine. Had to use the winch on my jeep to get him out.
Richard! Congrats on the buck! Did you happen to shoot your 10 point anywhere near Miller Bend/Reeves Road in between Graham and Newcastle? I swear that's a buck we have all over our cameras and was my target buck. Congrats again, super nice deer!
Last weekend I still didn't see much rut activity. Saw several does, some in groups and some single, but only 1 had a buck walking behind her. Also saw bucks both single and in pairs but didn't see any that looked to be searching. Hoping this weekend is different.
Our place is off of 1974 and Murray Cemetery Rd. The buck I shot had not shown up on any of our cameras before. The buck in the middle of the group picture had been all over our lease. He was the one everyone wanted. It turned out that the buck we all wanted was only a 14 3/4” spread. The buck I shot was almost a 17” spread.

Richard, I'm not too far from you, near 209 and Murray Circle Rd.. Nearly weekly, I have seen a new buck or two on camera...
Hit the horns, just brought in a nice 3.5-4.yo, high horned 10pt. He was excited, needs another year or two, fun stuff. Wasn't seeing a thing before rattling.
5-6 sits total counting this morning's. Looks like it's picking up. Clear Fork Processing in Graham has stopped taking in deer until Nov. 19th. One of the butchers said they've been taking in 50-60 deer daily the last two weeks, over 500 since Nov. opening. He said mostly bucks, 8ptrs. and up, very few does.

Man, that's crazy! That's where my deer is. Guess it's gonna be a while before I see my meat?
Picked up my son's deer today at Clear Fork processing that he took opening weekend. Worst wrapping job I have ever seen in my 25 plus years of deer hunting. Will have to use the meat fast or rewrap it to prevent freezer burn. Rays in Breckenridge will be getting my business going forward. I don't care how busy you are, no excuse for shoddy work.

Can't disagree with that, looked like they were burning and going when I was there. I have only had something from them 5-6 years ago and it was good, can't vouch for them now.
