I love em too. Grandkids won’t touch em, which I blame on the parents saying “you know what’s in those things...?).

Can of viennas and handful of saltines is hard to beat sometimes. Not a big fan of the juice or jelly, but have been known to spread it on a cracker when it congeals and it eat like that.
Shoot. Eat. Repeat.

I like them also. But tend to lean towards sardines on those saltines, with a dab of mustard and a slice of pickled Jalapeno.
My box stand has a little shelf with cans of Viennas, sardines, deviled ham, mustard, peppers and crackers ready for whenever I get a hankering.

You need to dunk them in the lake to get that jelly like substance off them.

My wife loves them and I've tried telling her what's in them when she says she doesn't like deer steak, but she always gets mad so I don't finish the sentence.

I used to eat them. Ate sardines also as a teen when I hunted with my grandfather. Might still like them, just can't bring myself to try them again as an adult. Sardines are what we use to bait our conibear traps.

Never took to canned sausages myself, much less sardines and crackers.
I do, however, love me some boiled peanuts.

Memories. My grandfather bought them by the case. A couple of cans and a pack of saltines spread on the tailgate was a picnic in his book.

Prefer the bbq ones over the reg. I don't like the jell either, but that's what pant legs are for.

Had a black and a yellow lab. They would eat anything, onions, banana, anything I tossed them....except hot dogs, they both would spit them out like I was playing a trick on them. Nuff said.

I still love them and sardines, especially the ones with the green chiles. Always a challenge to get that first sausage out of the can. I carry all this stuff when hunting lions and calling coyotes as you never know when you are going to get back to the camp. One of my long time hunting buddies not only loves the viennies, he drinks all the juice that gels up in the can. If you are hungry enough, all of this junk tastes good. Adios, Gary

My snack with a drink of choice. I put a can under my coat wnn I get settled in. This warms the juice so it isn't jelled.

Vienna sausage aka “monkey peters”, potted meat aka “monkey [censored]”, sardines “ Minnows”, and can of sour kraut , and a BIG box of cracker were normal items in my hunting box. These things taste so much better while hunting. At home they are a little challenging to eat.
I could never get use to the jelly in monkey peters either, but on a cracker, all is good!!
One f the best ideas ever was adding different flavors to monkey peters and minnows!!

Quit eating viennas when Hormel stopped making them. Don't care for the rest.
