Got it back up to the house, sprayed all the mud out of it(it was already submerged, cant hurt at this point) disconnected the battery pack and set up the heat lamp on the controller area. Will give it a few days to dry out and see what happens.

I would get on that buggiesgonewild site and search or ask on there. They know what to do. I drove mine through water over the floor the other day and it did just fine.

Well crazy enough after drying out with the heat lamp for two days and cleaning the mud/sticks out of the electrifan of the controller, I hooked everything back up and its working fine. I thought for sure my digital controller would be dead. Really surprised. I guess something could die at any time after this but for now, its running like normal.

I've sunk mine. Pulled it out, washed it, let it dry and off it went.

I like this thread. I just sold my polaris ranger, since I'm not on a lease right now. Had it 8 years and loved it but I have always been interested in the buggie route. Quite seems better. I like buying used stuff and fixing it up anyways. Depending on how much water/mud there is on my next lease I'm going to have to consider one of these.

I have acquired a '97 model gas Club Car. It runs really good after a carb cleaning and new brushes in the starter/generator. All standard equipment. Needs new seat and would like to put a bed on it. Does anyone know of a salvage yard for used golf cart parts ? Places I have looked online for parts seem really expensive and I really don't want to spend more for a few parts that I did for the cart. Thanks for any help!

Congrats on the '97. I recently acquired a, '01. It is tough finding parts. Did you do the carb and gen work yourself?

Yes on both carb and generator. Carb basically like a riding mower carb. Almost bought a Chinese replacement starter generator for about $150 versus $250 for an original. While looking I saw a brush kit for around $15. Watched a YouTube on replacing them and thought what the heck, give it a try. It was surprisingly easy.

Also added a 12v convertor system to run lights and accessories. I decided to stay with 36v instead of going up to 48v but can upgrade in the future if I want by just adding two batteries and the cables for the as the whole system will also run on 48v. I still need to replace the shocks and brakes. They are on their last leg. Ive taken this thing through a lot of deep mud and deeper water. I mounted the controller at the highest spot possible under the seat. Ive gone through creek crossing with water up about 6" over the floor board. I absolutely love this thing. Still have a 4 wheeler but never use it. Ive driven right up on hogs and deer that never knew I was there. And, Ive hauled two 250 lbs men with 500 lbs of corn in the bed going through creeks and mud. As you can see Ive just got 4 wheeler tires on it.

Nice. Appears you might be overfilling your batteries. Fill to where it just covers the plates. That will stop the acid boiling out when charging and add life to your batteries.

BGW is a great site. I'm restoring a '94 EZGO TXT to roadworthiness for use as a hunting buggy. Waiting on the sandblaster now so I can get the chassis weld repaired. Got a ton of parts ready to go. I'll post some pics once I get it back from the welder.

If the battery rack has any damage, I recommend replacing it now...they are a bugger to replace once the body is on.
