The electronic entrance gate at IDB has been set to open at 4am for duck season, since this is the only ramp open on the lake. Please be mindful of campers in the area and keep noise to a minimum while unloading/launching. If not a state park pass holder, then please use the self pay entrance permit system at HQ. Thank you.

That ramp is going to be an absolute nightmare

The ramp is 6 lanes. If it's a nightmare then maybe a few of you duck hunters should go take a boat ramp etiquette class rather than go hunting.

6 lanes on one of the most hunted lakes in the state, opening up at 4am with a line probably 50 boats long. There’s no way that’s not going to be a mess. Have you ever watched a boat ramp on a Saturday? Most people can’t even back a trailer up. You could run a whole comedy show just on Texas boat ramps.

Nothing like watching a busy boat ramp. People that don't know to turn off head lights, take up two lanes, wait till they are next to the water to prep boat. On and on and on.

I saw a guy clean fish while his boat was tied up in the ramp lane this summer on the coast. Almost got in a fight with another dude who threatened to untie it and tow it out of the way.

A while back, maybe 10 years ago or so, some jacklegs launched on Fri night before the opener and parked their trucks and trailers ACROSS the boat ramp to block everyone else. This was on a different way over-hunted DFW lake. I wasn't there, but heard they paid for it with broken windows and slashed tires.

I'm sorry to report that all State Park maintained ramps on Ray Roberts Lake are now closed due to high water. The only ramp available is the ramp inside the Lake Ray Roberts Marina.
