The wildlife biologists stopped by this weekend to talk about the black bear weíve had on our lease this year. He had picked up a buck that someone had hit down the county road from us. I feel pretty confident in saying nobody on our place has even had pics of a deer like this in the 7 years weíve been on it. Poor pics but thought Iíd share. Weíve had wider deer but every deer I remember being harvested was a typical.

There have been bears in Red river county for at least 15 years now. As far as I know itís only been young males looking for their own territory.

Iím in the northwest corner of the county and have never seen one. Closest Iíve heard of one to me is Manchester.

I had a place north of Detroit and they have had bears on camera too. I just had pigs unfortunately and never hunted the place.

We've had them on our lease in Red River county last spring. We're about 11 miles north east of Clarksville. Haven't had any pics this year of them. We've been told they come down from Oklahoma (Broken Bow area) and Arkansas.
