One was shot on my place a few years back, makes a heck of a mount. This bird had no clipped nails indicative of a pen raised bird. I had seen it the week before and was called crazy when I mentioned it. Not so crazy when the hound comes strolling back to the blind with it hanging from her mouth.

They’ve got to be kin to the wood duck. I’ve heard there’s a few that have made parts of east Texas home.
