I heard 4 shots this morning in Wood County. 2 pretty close to me, but i saw squirrels and wind.

Im on the Rains/Van Zandt county line. Saw 5 bucks and 5 doe this morning. Bucks were a little bitty spike, fork horn, 7 point, really young 9 point, and one I couldn't quite tell what just before light. Didn't hear any shots near me which is not normal for opening morning. Heading back out in just a bit.

Had a doe and a 12" heavy frame come by at 20 yds. Not many does where I am in Hoard. Didn't hear any shots.

Back in saddle this evening. Nothing so far. Brought my new IR so may stay after dark and see if my pigs show up on schedule.

This morning saw the small 9 point from yesterday, a fork horn and 3 doe. There was a big buck out there before I could see well enough to know exactly how big he was. The bucks are all checking out the doe and chasing them around. Another week and things will get serious!

Well, saw 4 doe and a nice 2 1/2 yr old 8 pt yesterday evening. This morning, nothing. I haven't seen any signs of the rut at all here where I'm at.

Hunted yesterday evening and saw a couple right at dark. Nothing this morning. Nothing yet this evening. No sign of rut at all. The 10th is normally the best day for year for rut. I have tracked it on my hunts for years and that’s the day. Not this year.
