Late start getting inta woods. 5:33pm got busted by buck tending doe. Bro had nice 8point close ta stand last night. On way ta work, still dark-thirty, seen nice buck in field off me headlights. Best wishes this weekend opening hunt.

6:35 doe shows up.  think it winded me.  . dang beans in the chilly. edit got cool video of a squirrel in limb a foot above me that came for a visit. Sent video ta daughter for the grandkids. edit: Minnesota.

Roll_Tide in Minnesota, added area in a late edit in above post. Area's hunted in  Smith, Wood county, around Jefferson, Palastine,area's around their, rut usually was going on around now also. Best wishes. kmon1  . Slug opens up tomorrow for week or two, still be out that with me crossbow, might catch something moving, like usta do during deer-squirrel & hog hunts on WMA. Achery goes into Dec, do have a new (used) .50cal muzzleloader. Me .45's are still in . Best wishes & Safe hunting.

Just looked at and emptied cam cards that I pulled last weekend there was little bit of chasing going on. Should be ramping up.

I didn’t see a single dead deer on the road tonight from Sweetwater to Goldthwaite. That’s usually a sign that not much is going on yet.

Saw several road kills on 83 north of Menard a good sign however not too much activity yet at my place in Dickens county bucks are still in bachelor groups Harvested a nice 10 with an 9 and a 4 the 3rd week of archery. Today sitting with my wife we had 2 eights at feeder. Not really chasing yet

Last 3 day's the rain put a damper on things. Cousin's son took nice big bodied 10 pointer, & friend of me bro took nice deer first week archery. Farmers not able get all crops in due ta wet season. Snow be hitten soon (had light snow early morning few weeks back) didn't last. Keep your head held high & your powder dry.
