Has what seems like schaffing? going on between his legs. Took him to vet. Gave me some shampoo and medication and a cone. Should I have taken him? I don't go to docs when I'm schaffing. Just wash, dry then neosporine. Gone the next day. Could I do the same for him? Something similar? Doc said it was swollen. I notice that when he does a lot running and playing around its gets worse. Same as me when I get schaffed. Give him a day or 2 to rest it seems like its clears up. Difference between us is that I know when to quite running playing working. He doesn't. Also a dogs saliva doesn't help at all. Makes things worse so says the vet.

I haven't heard of that happening.

Is he overweight?

I think I read recently somewhere that neosporine was bad for dogs?

Is it just from running in tall grass?
If so they should toughen up over time.

My (old) lab has gotten what the vet called fungal infection on his belly, mostly bottom half from chest to inner thighs. Looks pink sometimes and has lots of brown spots. The hair will go missing there too. Some antifungal orals prescribed and it goes away.

Never had that problem almost sounds like some kind of an allergy. Neosporin has worked well on my dogs for years with different injuries. From what I understand it's only bad for them if they lick it. If you use it I would recommend the cone of shame.
