I asked about this a little while ago and got mixed replies. I decided to go for it and installed a single wire around my food plot, about a foot off of the ground. It's attached to my horse/goat pasture hot wire, which is powered by a 2 joule pulse charger that is plugged into the wall in my barn.

The first week, I saw what I thought where hog tracks inside the fence, but when looking at my game camera, couldn't find a single hog picture. It's been three weeks now and about 1,500 pictures without a single hog in any of those pictures. The deer numbers have not changed too much. The smaller bucks are not around this week like they where before, but the big buck hasn't missed a day. I also have Black Magic in the middle of my food plot, and that really brings in the deer. The corn is lasting forever in my feeder, they barely touch it.

He is probably better then most of what you see out here in East Texas, but there are some monsters out there that you have to see to believe. One was killed on the road a few years ago that that made the local news that had to have at least six inch bases!!! The buck in the picture is probably 3 to 4 years old, and I've never met anybody that has ever seen a 5 year old or older buck in this area. Either the poachers get the, the lions, or who knows what happens to them. I rarely see the same bucks on my game camera two years in a row, and I've never seen any three years in a row. Either they all figure out where to hide, or something happens to them. If we see that buck, we will be very happy to take him!!!
