Bill's Burgers, Wings & Things, Burnet (north side of hwy 29, 2 blocks west of hwy 281)

Still pretty soggy around Oatmeal.

What do you have going on around there?

Bill's Burgers, Wings & Things, everything I have had there was great, including the hand cut french fries and onion rings.

The Highlander used to be the place to go, but I haven't been in years. I've heard El Rancho is pretty decent Mexican (Tex-Mex) food. Small place on the west side of the Square, Tea-licious (sandwich shop). Bar-B-Q Shak used to have some respectable brisket, but again, haven't been in years.

I still have family & friends in Burnet, I will ping them for other options ... stay tuned.

there is a little hole in the wall in Bertram that used to be the local's hangout that had fried catfish on Friday night (think it's a Mexican food place), East side of town next to a convenience store/Dollar General, not sure they still run that special. There is also a little diner type place called Good Grazin on hwy 29 just east of FM 243 that my wife and I have stopped in for lunch, good home cooking (meat loaf, liver/onions, hamburger steak, etc.).

if you are looking for a processor in that area, Brizendine's on FM 243 next to the post office is where I have used for years when hunting in that area.

good luck on your axis hunt! A friend used to have a place out north of Bertram that was over run with both white tail and axis from a flood washing out a section of high fence. My place is south of Bertram, and never have seen any sign of axis out there.
