You know, for a state with 28 million people in it, one would expect the odds to win a draw to be insanely low. But the vast majority of the draws only have a few hundred applicants. Even the largest ones look like they only get 2 - 5k applicants. So it's really a TINY number of people participating in the draws.
This is my first year participating in the draw and I expected way more people to be participating.

I believe the 2nd draws are coming tomorrow or the next day... People had until the 25th to acknowledge the draw and pay any fees right? I would imagine they do the 2nd draws immediately following that?

I think TPWD only sales about a million hunting licenses a year. So far less than the state population. I think somewhere around 750,000 of those are resident licenses. But, still very few people get into the draws.

Well, everything went from "Pending 2nd Draw" to "Not Selected" today. 1 out of 16, not too bad I guess!

Keechi is fun for squirrels!

As for me, I had a good year:
Waterfowl at Copper Breaks
Antlerless in Sam Houston
Feral Hog in Daughtery (although, I am going to have to not accept) - this one was a 2nd draw, so it is possible to get 2nd draws!
