Bucks are now single, hard at scrapes, nose down and trying to find a ready doe. (parker county). Could be an early rut for the Cross Timbers region - fingers crossed.

Been seeing a few doe in the evenings about 80yds behind the barn. Tonight they showed up and a cpl min later I looked out where they were and a decent buck was right there looking back at me. He put his nose to the ground and pushed the doe off.

I shredded roads/fencelines yesterday morning and saw a lot of rubs and several scrapes. More rubs than I have ever seen in the past 6 yrs. Deer are scattered chasing live oak acorns all over my place and chasing fresh green growth at the same time. The eat/browse while walking from oak to oak tree then eat on acorns. I saw two young bucks dead about 300 yards apart on the highway 59 today west of Victoria. The few bucks I have seen the last week while bowhunting are pushing does around and the does are not staying in any one spot to long due to the pressure from the bucks.

In carter county Oklahoma I have seen lots of scrape sign but not a lot of checking the scrapes. Might be too warm in daylight. Had two bucks come out a week ago Monday and they didn't check the scrapes once, but an older buck who I saw was walking a scrape line, or so it seemed, but never stopped to make any fresh marks or sign.

Had a bunch of doe in front of me Saturday eve and yesterday eve, but no bucks pursuing. one young buck came in later and pushed some doe around but they weren't too bothered by him or his very minimal sniffing advances. I bet the cooler weather late this week brings the big boys out.

Right on time for that area. It was always full blown on Halloween when I hunted the Bosque/Hamilton county line for 12 years. Numerous times on opening weekend of rifle I witnessed breeding.

Had a group of five mature bucks in the yard here in Abilene tonight but the bucks were split up at the ranch in Rising Star yesterday. Go figure.
