A Montana Rifle Company 308 with a NF 2.5-10x42 Barnes TTSX 130's will be in my hands opening morning as it just works so well and is so pleasant to shoot.
Tikka T3 Lite Stainless .243 Vortex Razor HD LH 3-15x42 Hornady 100gr Interlocks An XXL stock pack with 3 XL stock packs inside that, and 3 Med stock packs inside each one of those stock packs
I’m leaning towards an open-sighted Winchester Model 94 that’s a good match for the wooded area I plan to hunt Saturday morning. Any shot taken will be no more than 50 or so yards.
"Some people will never like you because your spirit irritates their demons."
I'll be holding a video camera, my sons will be packing a 6.5CM 143ELDX and .224 Valkyrie 73ELD. I'll have a .284 win for back up. The older one hunts by himself.
T3 Hunter 6.5x55 with VX-6HD 3-18. Not my typical hunting rifle I’m usually hard on hunting rifles so wood and blue are going to make me take a bit more care of it.
Tikka CTR, 6.5CM with Bushnell LRHSi 4.5-18 and custom reloads of Dallas specials. Will be moving to the 6.5 Speedmoor or HV soon though.
Would love to use my wife's grandfathers Winchester model 94 30-30 before he dies but my son will be with me and that gun warrants a closer hunt than a 7 yr old is capable of, well, my 7 yr old at least.

how you liking that VX-6?
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I love it so far but I will know more next week after some low light hunting. Optically it’s the best scope I’ve owned. I’ve had it out in low light and was very impressed but sitting in the stand in less than perfect conditions will tell the story. Dialing seem to be spot on. The zero stop works well but seems to be of questionable strength. The built in anti cant seems gimmicky. We shall see.

I have the same scope.
In low light it will outperform your eyesight.
I can see to shoot with it long after I can see with my eyes or binoculars

I'll have my Bergara B14 Ridge 6.5 Creedmoor with a Leupold VX3i 4.5-14x40 CDS, but I'll be bow hunting opening morning. I may switch over some time during the weekend, time will tell.
I haven't even decided where I'm gonna hunt this weekend, much less which rifle.
Love it!
I'm a bit of a gun nut and have 36 different "deer" rifles. Like my five children, I love them all the same. I walk into my reloading room, and they all making a sales pitch! I'm thinking old school Savage this year. I have the 170 in both 30-30 Win and 35 Rem and the 99 in 300 Sav and 308 Win.
Not sure which will get opening day nor if I will even do an opening day. There is a crazy amount of acorns and pecans on the ground here and the frontal system that is passing through midweek is going to put a lot more on the ground. Visibility is poor in or near my oak motts or the riparian areas that hold the pecans. I tend to wait until later in the year, December, with our last rut period when the big guys are chasing the last few does to be bred. Better selection then.

Yes, know yourgear, yur place and hunt effectively. My little place a good percentage of the does will be bred by opening day every year. This week is usually when I see the most chasing, some years it is opening week of rifle season but usually the end of bow season
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch
Either my old Winchester M70 .25-06 shooting 120gr Sierra HPBT, or my not-as-old Winchester Featherweight .270 shooting 130gr Partitions. I'll probably carry along my 6.8 with a mag full of FMJ if I hunt by the creek on our place since that's where we normally see the turkeys.
Sako 85 Black Bear 30-06 w/ Trijicon Accupoint 3-9X40 20.75 inch barrel The gun is sighted in at 100 yards with Federal Premium Soft Point 150 Gr right now
Unfortunately I do not have a place to hunt on opening weekend so not sure if she will be used until my Mulie hunt the first week of December. I will re sight the gun in at 200 yards with 178Gr ELD-X for that hunt.
I’m hunting this year with my recently built 6.5 creedmoor by Tony. It’s a freaking tack driver! Also plan on using my CZ 527 in 221 fireball to lay down some predators
