I'm currently looking for any leads on a good Pudelpointer. Does anyone have any leads? I have talked to a couple guys out in Idaho and Oregon. Both have year or longer lists. I'm hoping to get a puppy this winter. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hoping you find something but from what I understand any good breeder that you would want a puppy from is going to have a long wait.

Start here, I did: http://pudelpointer.net/breeders.htmlDon't just say you are looking for a PP. Include a description of the types of hunting and frequency that you do - basically why you want one. All PP breeders have a goal of placing their pups in a solid hunting home. One contact will lead to another, they all know each other. My advice... find all you can with upcoming litters then do your research on them. See if you find a good fit. If you want to hold out for a certain breeder be prepared for a very long wait. I just went through this in the last year so let me know if you have any questions.

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Find a dog who's parents are tested. Send email/ calls to call the NAPPA breeders you can. Bob Farris with Cedarwoods Pudelpointer's is a great one to start with. He was a awesome resource when I was searching for mine and ended up getting me on one of his litters.
If you are able to call today and pick one up tomorrow I would check the dogs pedigree and make sure it comes from a healthy non inbred line.

If you are ready now, I just saw this on facebook from "Oxbow Kennel" in Ohio. An 11 week old pup from my N litter has become available due to allergy issues. Please PM me for details if interested.
