Seeing anything good on your camera? Not planning to pull cards on mine again for a couple weeks.

I hate to admit this, but with work Im just now getting my cameras out today. It'll be my first year hunting out there so Im sure its gonna be hard to get on one, but, you don't even have a chance at bagging one if you aint out there, so even though Im way behind on scouting Im still gonna be giving it a try

I was out scouting LBJ a couple of weeks ago. Very hit or miss from parcel to parcel. Some with no sign at all, some with OK sign. I know where i'm headed at this point, we'll see if it proves fruitful.

That used to be a fun place with only a few deer around. I used to bow hunt there back in the late 70's - early 80's. My favorite area was #71, at the end of road Fs 923. Saw a very nice buck there 2 years in a row, that I was never able to get a shot at. At the time my brother was the game warden in that county, and I spent a lot of time there. Haven't been up in that part of the world in a very long time. Good luck to you all. PS: just curious, do y'all see many turkeys in that area? Back in the late 70's TP&W was re-stocking that area with turkeys and there was no turkey season back then.

Saw some good signs in a few area I put cameras out in. Also ran in to some guys that have hunted out there for quite some time, and as far as the turkey question goes, they said that there are a few tracts around 31 that have good turkey numbers on em

I've seen a couple groups of doe and a pair of small bucks, one being legal. I dont ever set cameras as I hate thieves and figure if I dont set anything to be stolen I'll have fewer people to walk around hating. I have been doing some static scouting and glass work. I have seen very few doves and have shot only a half dozen mourning and a white wing. The birds I've seen have been mostly paired up.. locals I suppose. I did run into a few pigs a few evenings ago. I know of a good turkey unit, unintentionally busted a roost last week and even ran into a nice tom early last season... as in a week too early and that at a whole other unit. If anyone would like to compare notes just pm me. I dont mind sharing one bit but dont want every single person to be able to just click scout. Yall take care.
