I decided to wait till 24th to plant and looks like I will be waiting longer than that with close to 10" this month. You hit it good on rainfall with your timing. I had army worms hit me about 3 yrs ago now on Nov 3rd but it was much warmer then than now.

I was looking at the long ranch forecast high 70's and mid 50's , do you think we are good ranchman for are areas, when I planted last week the ground was pretty soaked at my place here in mineral rain total for me since sept 12inches, so I had to use the 4wd on the mahindra wanted to get the seed in the ground plots were already plowed so I just broadcasted and dragged the best I could to get the seed buried!!! GOD WILLIMG PLOTS WILL MAKE IT

I had army worms in northern live oak county just over 2 weeks ago and did not see any sign of them yesterday. I had them here about 2 weeks ago in some grass-burs and field grass in a spring food plot the day after a rain. Then it got cold and I have not seen any sign since. I think it depends on how hot the temps get again. Lot of areas have had them and some have not. The temps do look good for a while and hoping the army worms are done for this year.

After seeing how good your plots are doing with all the rain and timely plantings, I planted this afternoon. Really to wet in some spots and had to put tractor in 4wd in a couple of silted in spots. Really good soil moisture and it planted well with 100# oats/acre, so it should sprout in 5-6 days and a chance of rain Thursday will really help that. Will fertilize it later in November or December before a good rain. Now just need the army worms to hold off and the hogs to let it get going.
The backside of this plot was really wet in the far corner. The first two pics are at the same blind. First is from the blind looking east and the second is from the NW looking back to the blind.

Same with the far back part of this plot. I could not plant that little area of this plot. I am looking from the blind area across the plot.

Looks good! To the NE, I'm going to start on my food plots tomorrow afternoon. I will work into the night if the front is forecast to hit us earlier than noon Wednesday.

I think it is the height vs. width relationship thing. Take the picture in landscape, phone horizontal, vs. portrait (vertical).

Mine were planted last week on Monday and were coming up by Saturday afternoon. I missed the last 2 rains since then but hoping for more this next 10 days. I took these photos from the blind this morning.
