That was pretty neat, I haven't seen a porcupine on decades.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in person. Pretty cool.

They're in our neighborhood on a fairly regular basis. I try to shoot everyone I see. They're hell on dogs and not too good for trees. rifle
LO of a lease I was on north of Sanderson finally put a GSP that was given to him down 'cause it wouldn't quit chasing them and getting all kinds of messed up.

Cool photo!

I’ve seen exactly one. They are hard to kill with a bow. That’s the sum total of my porcupine knowledge.

Me too. 12ga 4BUCK did the job. Thought it was a Coon. In retrospect, wish it had been daylight. hammer

I assume their actual bodies are small, the quills deflect arrows readily, or both. I wasn’t going to do a post mortem on him to find out. smile

I have only seen one and it was by a road. Very cool animal but I don't want to screw with one

Couple years ago we went out to Sonora TX to do a hunt and where surprised at how many porcupines we saw there. Both, early in the morning, and late in the evening, they would be walking across the roads. Probably saw five of them in three days.

Looks like it is wet, Partner. I hate when one of my young hounds thinks it can snatch up and shake one of those critters....
Adios,

I've killed a couple. They'll eat the bark off trees and can kill them.

We had one on our lease in Nolan county and he would be at the feeders or walking down the main ranch road waiting to see a truck and would go to the feeder we went to.

Cool video.
I have snared several of them, and see them in Mason County from time to time. They do not move very fast and it isn't hard to sneak up pretty close to them.

I’ve seen lots of road killed. Hope I never see one while hunting with my bird dogs.
