A friend of mine just got on a lease in Brewster county, for Mule deer. The ranch owner has told us of many lion sightings, and we are instructed to make a shot on one if we see one. I've heard it's good eating, and hate to waste the meat, if so. We are a little weired-ed out about eating a cat, but are willing to if it's good meat.

What say you?

Steve Rinella with Meateater brags about it and probably has a recipe for it on his website, he says it tastes like pork.

I had it at one of those Game Warden pot luck dinners. Was pretty good. Definitely way better than bobcat.

Mule deer is first, then maybe that's a possibility. We've got access to some awfully big country. There be mountains in Texas...

I have not eaten Mountain Lion. I have not seen a Mountain Lion. But, I think my time is coming. And I will try to kill it. And then, eat it.

The trackers in Africa all eat African Lion when one is killed. It is believed to help them with certain responsibilities at home. At my age, I need all the help I can get.

Couple ranches I know down south wait until they get a couple hanging out then they will run them with dogs.
I called one in to 11 yards this year with an elk bugle. Pretty cool really wish I had a tag.

I have seen a few mountain lions, but have never shot one. If I did I would have everyone over for dinner.
Maybe a few mountain lion burgers, some stir fry, and as Nugent said some "mountain lion steak"
Maybe even some kitty poppers for appetizers.

I have eaten porcupine. A friend convinced me that them quills were guarding some succulent meat. He was wrong.
But then I may have shot a big bull porker during the rut.

I did not know you needed a tag for a mountain lion or an elk in Texas?
