Retriever I would recommend Chad Radt with Lucky 7 Retrievers and if your needing upland Clayton Taylor with Muddy Paw Retrievers & Pointers. Both are located in Anderson, TX just up the road.

I know there are a lot of trainers in the área but I've personally seen Alison Sutton with Legend Retrievers run dogs.

I think she does a great job, I like the way she interacts with the dogs she runs. If I was sending a dog to a trainer for gun dog training she's who I'd send my own dog to.

Not sure if you e looked at prices but be prepared to pay $600-$800 a month for several months no matter the trainer.

A little bit further up the road is Rody Best with Best Retrievers in Paige, TX. I've had my last two dogs trained there and my third will be going there in February. Some if it may depend on your goals for the pup also. Are you just wanting gundog training to have a hunting buddy or, are you looking to run hunt test or field trials? Lots of options for gundog but if you're wanting to get titles and play the retriever games outside of hunting season you will want to research the success rate of the trainers in the venue you're wanting to compete.
