This may be your least productive bow season yet

My place is flooded. First time ever we haven’t gotten the food plots in by now. No use going this weekend just shooting for next weekend for bowhunting and hoping the waters recede by then. 15+” of rain over the last 5 days and it hasn’t quit yet.

I'm pretty sure the lower area down the hill of my field I hunt is under water which could possibly include my feeder I hate to say. In 2015 over half my field was under water , My protein was totally gone and my corn feeder you could only see the lid at the top of the water line.

Lower pasture is flooded which is bordered on two sides by large pin oak woods, the mallards and woodies will be covering this flooded field up if past flooding experiences hold true. The bottoms sloughs are all out of banks and flooded which will push the deer and hogs up to edges. Looks like may be better waterfowling in a few weeks than deer hunting.

My lease is in Red River county, it is normally under water when it rains this much but it is much worse this year.

My place in Windthorst has received 14" in the past week or so according to the ranch manager. This was as of end of day Monday so I'm sure it's more now. Very likely that a couple of the levees have broken and the pond nearest camp is overflowing down the road that passes just west of camp. Fortunately camp is on high ground.

Given that roads generally get worse as the colder weather sets in, they’re sure to be bad already given the torrents many have been carrying recently.

We've had a ton of rain but the road to the house should be fine. May have to use the four wheeler instead of the golf cart this weekend.

I live on a Limestone hill. Our ponds are full and overflowing. This country is mostly rock except by the creek, which is red sand. So far about 13" of rain in the past week.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

Was at my lease in southern San Saba Thurs-Sat and the big pond at the back had almost dried up opening weekend of dove season, it’s full now. Got my food plot in Friday and hoping the seed hasn’t washed away...

We don't watch the local news very often, but last night was the first time I ever remember seeing Sutton county in a flash flood watch ever. scratch

I remember back in 1998 and 2000 on our old lease in Kendall Co. We didn't drive a vehicle in the pasture all season, lots of walking.

This all happened a few years ago twice in Montague but not well traveled and flatter. This time it is just way south. We had a bridge taken out on our place, trees on feed pens, 2 acre tank busted out. Some tropical storm dumped 10 inches on us in a day. Another day got 6 inches, another time 9 inches. Then the next drought starts...
