Just replaced all batteries in smoke alarms, changed air filters, and making a dump run. Do you guys do this stuff before season? My wife says it isn't until I'm at the lease until the smoke alarm starts chirping at 2am.

I do. A/C filter, last mowing and edging, clean gutters and make sure windows are caulked and no leaks. Then it's off to the ranch for even more chores.

LOL! It never fails. I leave for a weekend hunt and something breaks or goes haywire. Water heater goes out, dog got out of the backyard and lost, AC goes out, you name it. And yes, I do like getting a bunch of honey do's completed that I have been hearing about for weeks or months!

No kidding on something breaking while I'm at the property. You name it, it's happened.

Deer season started almost 3 weeks ago. And its already over for the good hunters (like me).

Replaced all smoke alarms with the 10 year alarms a couple years ago. DONE and DONE.

First hunting season since retirement so I had plenty of time taking of most all those things...sure there will be more but....when nature calls.........although she does not hunt ... loves going to the farm...

I have had everything happen. Heat won't turn on, smoke alarms, garage door broke, kids sick, water dripping from ceiling, water is backing up, etc. I fixed it though.

“making a dump run” I do that at least once a day!

The place looks great, Lotto. It sure is nice having a warm, cozy cabin to come home to after the hunt.

I need to get in gear and make sure I have all my stuff done. My wife keeps adding to it. I have lots to do the nexts few nights.

Put together storage cabinet for my wife. I need to change AC filters. I have to clean and vac the house. Wife is laid up with Shoulder surgery.

On top of that I have to leave Sunday for 5 days of sales meetings out of state.

If I don't get to gettin I am in trouble in a couple of weeks. I still have a tripod setting on my trailer I have to hual to the lease when I get back in town next weekend.

I'm sure my sweet wife will pile on as much as she can before season, she seems to enjoy such timing.

If hunt pops up I submit vacation request grab cash and throw house keys to neighbor and I am a ghost! Guess it is luxury of being single, but then I behaved same way when married. Maybe a relationship between my being single and way I handle domestic chores.

It's not the "chores". But...if you're happy, I'm happy.
