We got out for a few days this past weekend to hunt Prairie Chickens in Nebraska. The birds have grouped up and were more challenging to point but we managed to get a few. The weather started out nice and birds were relaxed. As the wind increased and the skies became more overcast, birds flushed up ahead of the dogs. On some spots, large coveys would flush as we parked vehicles. We enjoyed the hunts in the hills this year and look forward to getting on them again next September/October.

Greatness. I've only hunted them once in North Dakota. We didn't get good dog work. The dogs would almost point and we would almost get there. We got nice dog work on a few coveys of Huns.

I'm hoping to get on some Huns in Wyoming and Idaho this season. Huns are one of my favorite birds to hunt.
