Found this black buck on my ranch. first one I've seen.

my question is are there likely more around or is this a lone buck?

I've read that they breed rapidly. do you think there are does around as well?

Thank you.

They breed like rats if you don't have any predators or it doesn't get too cold and icy for them.

Hard to say if there are more. We get a LF blackbuck or two every couple of years. We have had two bucks that were loners, but the does were two each time, all were a few years between.
The HF seems to attract them as there are blackbuck inside. My wife had one fighting another through the fence, she killed him as soon as she got a clear shot.

it's you. here another pictures of him at another place on the ranch.

Thanks for the replies. I wouldn't mind a small herd roaming around.

Cool. We had a buck and two doe show up a couple of years ago. They roam around the neighborhood. Never seen them while hunting, darnit.

I've done everything I can to try and keep him, and possibly others, around. I've actually been trying to attract axis but this was a nice surprise.

hopefully I'll see him this season while I'm sitting in the blind.
