Inspired by an earlier beer bread post by QMC and others I started messing around with it. I made a loaf of Shiner beer bread that was bad azz, I followed the exact recipe that was posted and it was delicious - ate the whole loaf. Tonight I am starting to play around with stuffed beer bread, I have a feeling it's going to go over well at camp. I have a portable propane oven I bought after Harvey that's gonna come in handy for this too. Dutch Oven & coals is also on my mind.

Browned half a ring of smoked pork sausage & shopped up a couple jalapenos.

Everything in the bowl about to get married smile

Will post pics when out of the oven. Thanks for lookin'.

The "bread" ability of the bread was a little different this time as expected cause of the moisture from the added ingredients, even after it cooked until my sticker was clean. Learning - next time will cook stuffed bread a little longer. I'm not a baker LOL.

Looks good. We just add a handful of shredded cheese and chopped green chiies to our beer bread. Drain the green chiles real good, too much moisture will cause the bread to get soggy.

Try cooking it in glass, as in Pyrex, cake pans. F or an unknown reason, my beer bread seems to be better whne baked in glass rather than metal pans.

Learning.

Thinking about dropping a thick slice or two into a hot pan in the morning, and covering with a fried egg.

The flavor of this bread is very good.

Yes Sir. I will try glass. I am cooking in my camper right now. My little oven only heats from the bottom and is touchy on temp.

I will learn on the stuffed bread, but must say the original beer bread recipe I made the other day with a Shiner was damn good. This batch of bread is good though, but I wouldn't sell it to someone.
