Who else will be out this weekend fighting the rain! Wanted to open a thread to ask others what they have had luck with in the rain. My plans are to hunt the food and be in the stand in between the storms. Have seen them move mid day if the rain subsides even just for a few minutes.

Anyone else have any advice? Good luck to all and have a safe weekend.

Take Care,
Bub

My best luck is watching college ball in cozy recliner.

Some light rain is good for sound/scent control. But only a perfect shot, due to the blood trail situation.

Too early. In two more months, I'll take all the South Texas drizzle and fog we can get. Big bucks just love that during the rut!!!

Cold with misty rain is perfect for deer hunting

Downpour raining sucks for deer hunting... But hunting can heat up quickly once that rains stop up

My thoughts also. Plus some of the best sleep I get is in a stand with the sound of the rain on the tin roof.

Set up a pop up yesterday so I can at least be dry. I have been getting a house ready to sell for the last two months and I am going in the morning rain or not. I don't care if I see an animal, I just don't want to see a paint brush for a couple of hours.

If the roads aren’t a pain and I’m not in a tower blind I like hunting in the rain, beats the alternative of hot and dry. They’ll feed in light rain and after big storms pass.

Shot my biggest buck in a light rain. Heavy rain isn't any good in my experience, but light rain I'll be hunting.

I like a tin roof on my blind, that way I can sleep all day, the deer will get a walk.

I will gladly fight a pre-dawn downpour to be in the stand and settled once the rain stops. There isn’t a more magical time to be in the deer woods.

You're better off to walk and hunt closer than not hunt at all or get stuck in the mud. Speaking from experience as other members will tell you, lol.

Don't tear up the roads at your lease. Stay at home. It is a long season.
