Supposed to go on a hog hunt this weekend about 2 hours west of DFW. Calling for rain ALL weekend... What are the chances we see anything? Have you ever had luck hunting them in the rain?

The rain means nothing to pigs.

I have pics from earlier this weeks where pigs were at my feeder for hours in the rain.

The last pig I shot, a couple weeks ago, I did so in pouring rain, and it wasn't alone.

Hogs will tend to seek shelter (often in the woods) or huddle together during heavy rain, but will be moving between rain bands and during light rains/drizzle. With that said, I have had hogs under the feeder during deluges. Remember, hogs live outside all the time. Contrary to popular belief, they don't stop eating just because it is raining. It may slow them down a bit, but they still are going to be doing what hogs do, rain or not. Most folks don't hunt them in the rain because it is rain. It can be harder to get to hogs in the middle of a muddy field. Vehicles get stuck, etc, but hogs just keep doing what hogs do.

I killed three hogs last weekend in the rain. Late Saturday night early Sunday morning. It started a light shower at 0145 and set in till about 0500. The first hog came at 0200 to a corn hole in view of the front door of the house and got a 7.62x39 SST to the neck at 0210. The other two came to the back corn hole at the far end of the ranch at 0330 and both went down at 0340. I saw several more on the ride back to the house but they heard the ATV and spooked and I was way to tired to worry about them.
