What I use in both 380 and 357 sig. I bought them for grumpy bear country, since I have killed a few hogs out of the truck with them.

I saw a special deal on New Glocks if you ruined the other one

A 1911 would require about 5 pages for all the reasons they have to break down

Yep, I'll just agree with him on the bottom line. I carry a Glock every day and I've heard rumors that I'm a real man. laugh

Don’t believe everything you hear. whip

The assessment of the Glock is one reason I don’t carry it. Tupperware, terrible trigger, and it doesn’t point where I’m looking.

You sure it’s a magazine issue and not a throat issue?

The OP’s problem was caused by a maintenance issue that all guns are susceptible to regardless of manufacturer. Rust is caused by neglect.

^^ This!! I'm guilty of neglecting the pistol long enough to cause this issue. I good cleaning and some slight oil in the right places, and she's back up and running.

Thanks Chad!
As an Armorer for a metropolitan police force for over 20 years, I’ve seen several semi-auto pistols with their action frozen due to rust. I remember a S&W M59 that I had to disassemble that the barrel was frozen to the slide due to rust around the barrel bushing and in the chamber. Beating it with a rubber mallet didn’t work. I ended up soaking it in liquid wrench for 24hrs then was able to loosen it with the rubber mallet.
I could never understand why someone who carried a gun for a living was so negligent with equipment that was meant to save their life.
Oh, by the way, the round in the chamber was a 115gr Winchester Silvertip. Their casings were brass which corrodes too.

Yes! This happened in about a week or two's time. I often unload my carry guns, but I'll check it more often now. Especially after working in the rain and sweating.

Press check Chad!!! Keeps the brass/nickel from corroding and getting stuck. But I'm T.A.F so I press check in my sleep though.

The whole grip angle argument is the biggest bunch of BS.

It doesn’t take any effort to get used to a Glock grip angle, or to switch between a Glock and 1911.

Have to agree here. Can't tell you the number of officers and civilians whom I have trained that shoot Glocks. Even with folks transitioning from another weapon to the Glock I have never had an issue with anyone having problems with the grip.

Interesting how Chad posted an issue with ammo causing a problem with the weapon and it has morphed into a Glock issue.

It's the THF. If it goes another page it will turn into a high fence or beans in your chili thread.

I fell out of a boat into a lake with my S&W Shield on my hip. I just set it on the dash of the truck and never cleaned it. A few weeks later I shot it and no issue and no rust.

I don’t think that’s a very true statement. Every gun feels different every person. Some people have zero pointing issues with a Glock, I am not one of them. You place a Glock in my hands and I ahoot low if I don’t use the sights. It’s also feels to boxy in my hands. My P226 points very true and feels great

Maybe. I just made a statement that is true from what I have seen and those whom I have trained (which is a good bit). Could be one reason that TCOLE asked for my input when they rewrote their Basic Firearms Course and included it.
I point a Glock real well. I also point a Sig well. Maybe there is something there.....

Did you not carry it for a week? If not and you carried it since, It's a good idea to perform a press check every time prior to holstering (like when you put your holster on your belt).

I don’t have a problem shooting them, I shoot them as accurately as my Sig, but it requires using the sights vs being able to use peripheral vision which makes my follow ups slower. They are obviously a great gun, just not for me.
