Lots of not so clear pics but hope they convey the events. Pics are from Friday planting and food Saturday night and Sunday am. Game plan was to leave the house Friday at 6:45 am be at the Justin Fees Store at 7:30 opening get my stuff and off I go, right Well the wife had a few request before I boogied. Stopped at Buc-ees at 114 and I35 get gas $2.52, diesel $2.75 and corn 50 lb $6.45 I like that place now up the road to Justin Seed Co. First time buying my seed and fertilizer there, checked out their web site and decided to go with some Texas A&M certified seeds (TAMO). Went with 3 bags of TAMO 411 Oats and 2 bags of TAMO 114 Wheat the guy at the counter seemed very knowledgeable and liked my choices. Fertilizer I requested 13-13-13 and he asked me where I was planting, I told him north of Jacksboro so he recomended I use 20-10-10 because it has more Nitrogen and usually that was what the Sandy Loam soil needs the most of, so okay thats what I got The man has me sign a document that states I will not resell the seeds or grow them for resell because of their proprietary property rights I guess? Jump on the tractor get it disced no problem, had issue with my spreader so I had to run into town and rent a buggy from H Brand and David was not to happy that I did not buy my stuff from him so he charged me accordingly $$$ Got it planted and it is dark now, borrow a friends rail road track to cover seed & fertilizer with. I am making my first pass next to the woodline to the west, lights on bucket lifted high so the lights shine on the field and all of the sudden about 6 hogs come jogging out of the woods dang near in front of me no more than 15-20 yards out. They decide to not cross in front but are going parallel with me for about 30 yards and casually cruise away. I tried recording it on my cell phone at 7:49 pm but you cannot see the pigs for it was to dark and I was to late Had to leave at 6:00 am Friday to drop buggy back off and get home So here are the pics from Friday. Tried a couple of funny selfies and the were ugly so here is mad max heading to the field. Rear end of the bugs on the windshield heading home almost to Denton.

Can't go wrong with Justin Seed. They know their business very well, been at it for over 60 years. Current owner (Mr. Tally) is the son of the founder (met him a few times as our daughters played high school sports together). He knows his stuff for sure.

Feel your pain..... Why didn't you just run over the pigs with the tractor..... Buddy I was stunned that they came out in the first place much less that close for so long. And like I had a chance to run over them on a tractor pulling a 15' rail road track behind me

Worst case you'd just make a new game trail to your food plot......

About every 3-4 years I brush hog the old trails to open them back up and create e few new ones, its about that time to do it again but not this this time

Sounds like we had similar weekend. I planted all my food plots and then got 3" of rain. Temps dipping to the upper 40's this week so maybe it will stun back those dang army worms now. Best of luck to you.

Tough life there David, you should demand mileage compensation LOL And brudda, you're 1000% correct on the mosquitoes! Field looks good sir and those pigs will give you a second run or two when you're ready.

Best of luck to you. Sounds like it was good timing for all who planted recently, man I hope you get one of those big boys that roam your place Tough life there David, you should demand mileage compensation LOL And brudda, you're 1000% correct on the mosquitoes! Field looks good sir and those pigs will give you a second run or two when you're ready. Man I bet it is a tough life for a real farmer or rancher that has to make a living strictly off the land. Now us food plot farmers most of the time it is quite enjoyable working the land for fun, sometimes it can be a whupping Wonder why my youtube video was disabled
