Not much of a recipe.
I buy the cheek meat at HEB, usually cook 2 packages.
Take it out of package and wash it and pat it dry.
If there is any big globs of fat or connective tissue, cut them off. There will be some conective tissue and fat mixed in the meat, don’t worry it will cook down.
Cut the cheek meat in 2” cubes, and toss in slow cooker.
Add about a cup of beef broth.
Season with salt, pepper, garlic, and just a little cumin.
Cook on low about 8 hours.
Then shred the chunks with a fork.

Looks great! That's about the same as I do - in the crockpot. I use beef cheek's, salt & pepper, one yellow onion (cubed), 4-5 whole garlic cloves, & 2 bay leaves. I don't add liquid as the onions & meat makes it's own. I turn on low when I go to bed, it's done in the morning. Remove onion/garlic/bay leaves and shred meat. I've never cut into cubes but. up Voila, barbacoa de cachete.

I already cooked a pot of carne guisada for my work family this week, that got destroyed LOL. They don't know it yet but they're getting barbacoa tacos in the morning.

Crock Pot is loaded and ready to fire.

In the meantime, grilling some riblets for supper. I love riblets.

Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.
