Noticed a scrape this weekend, the first I’ve seen this fall.

I'm guessing that rattling would be effective now...

Sitting in the blind Sun morning pig hunting and had 5 bucks in another feeder pen. Big 8 jumped out, went a little ways in the trees and started rubbing an overhanging limb then started scraping the ground. He was definitely the dominate of the group. Didn't see a doe all weekend except on cameras.

I spend a lot of time driving around backroads, and I have been seeing a lot of does running lately. I had to put on the brakes pretty hard this morning to miss one that ran in front of me. I don't think it will be long and the bucks will really have them running.

You go through 'Pecan plantation'? Monsters running around there. I've seen bucks sparring for the past couple of weeks. Won't be long now.

I have pics on trail cameras of bucks chasing doe in mid and late Sept. Sunday morning (opening weekend) I saw 3 seperate bucks chasing doe. One was a big 5 year old that was pawing the ground, and working a scrape. Watched him bow up, lay his ears back and kind of walk sideways up to another buck that was eating with some doe. The younger buck ran off and the dominate buck started chasing the doe—-pretty cool to watch! Im MLD and have quite a few bucks running around on my ranch. The 5 yr old is not on my hit list so let him go. Im in Hardin county East TX

No action around us yet, our deer are boring.

Last month before my eye surgery, the smaller bucks were sparring/establishing dominance already. The nice 8 out there was just watching. I'm pretty sure I saw him shaking his head back and forth scolding the youngsters!! lol

Found a new started scrape yesterday, posted a thread, have a couple very young bucks sparring on TC, but they are young and likely doing it for fun. "It" is right around the corner tho.

I had to come back to town for a few days. I made 3 'mock' scrapes before I left. Curious to see if anything has messed with them.
