I had a headache Thursday evening, then added congestion on Friday, and awoke Saturday with all of the rest of the symptoms of a raging head cold. Tried to go out Saturday morning, but after several coughing fits, called it over. Came back in and slept most of day, then made a second attempt last night. About the same result.

Set the alarm for this morning with the best intent, but felt like I had gargled razor blades overnight and can barely swallow. Hopefully it doesn’t last too long and will try again to get out later in the week.

Dang it, I hate to hear about the cold. Open day and me tend to be a perfect recipe for a good cough.
I sat and watch birds with the occasional cough-cough. The wife got the buck that she was after... again. She still wonders why everyone thinks this is difficult. confused2

I didn't even try and go out. My cough and throat were so bad, I knew nothing would come within a mile of me. Crossing fingers this gets better and I have time in the next couple of weeks.

Got a flu shot?

Granted, cold bugs are a different animal. Still, one of the key reasons why I always get a flu shot is whatever help it may provide in avoiding having to be in bed rather than a deer blind.

Oh yea, I get one every year, but like you said, this is not the flu, just your run of the mill cold. Now my voice is gone...

Our youngest daughter is a school teacher and had it a couple weeks ago. The schools are probably the best indicator of health bugs making the rounds. I even posted the question at the time to see if forum members were seeing people getting hit with the stuff. It appears the cold and flu season will be an early one this year.

Don't rule out allergies because there is a lot of carp in the air.
I used to have a terrible allergy to rag weed which is the number one this time of year around here, and I would have to leave my stand because of the sneezing and coughing.
I still have a little bit, but due to consuming 500 to 1000 mg Vitamin C 365 days a year, it's minimal now and I don't have the watery eyes and sore itchy throat any longer.
I've got my fingers crossed as it's been a little over ten years now.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Where’s the pic? She may be about the only successful deer hunter around
