Bought this Ruger American Predator in 308 specifically for hunting with a buddy in West Texas. Most the feeders are 175-225 with some longer shots available. Stalking is tough as many feeders are opposite side of big washouts or draws so we usually shoot from the stand locations rather than stalk in close. I have killed a lot of hogs with my 6.8s but wanted something with more energy past 200 yards so went with the 308 and I’ll be shooting 155 amax.

I shoot the same rifle and it love the Hornady American Whitetail 150 grain ammo. Nice rig.

I like watching them get rolled with your shotgun. I’m still gonna build one. Hope it serves you well, I’ll be patiently waiting for the next shotgun kills......

almost all of Ft Hood has been closed for a major training exercise for like a month in a half it’s crazy. I can’t wait for my area to open up so I can go kill some hogs out there.

Sapper I thought you were a military guy? no desire for the M1A scout? I figured that would be all you

still a nice looking rig. In my opinion every gun should be ODGreen.

definitely getting cool enough to go smack some hogs now. hopefully your hunting grounds open up soon. I know I am gewtting ready to go in about a week or two. just need to make a quick trip to the range to make sure the 6.8 can still kill a fly at 100 yards.

I’ve actually never shot the MIA Scout but wouldn’t be against it. This Ruger American Predator is perfect for what I want though. It’s light, accurate, and compact

I keep thinking about mounting my Thermal on my M1A, it's just too long and heavy to get in and out of the truck very fast.

Nope but the areas I hunt on Ft Hood with the shotgun have all been closed so haven't gotten to use it for a while. Hoping to soon though.
