Thinking of buying a 6.5 Creedmoore What are your thoughts on it for deer hunting. One of my stands my furthest shoot will be 350 to 400 yards.

6.5 CM shooting a 143 grain ELD-X bullet will keep over 1000 pounds of energy at 500+ yards, so should be a great round for the range mentioned.

6.5 Creedmoor shoots a heavier bullet (143 gr.) than a .270 (130 gr.) faster at 500 yards than the.270. And it has lower recoil.
What's not to like??

If you don't already have a deer cartridge, it would be a great one to start with.

I've killed 8 axis bucks with my 6.5 Creedmoor as well as several WT and many hogs. I always use the axis bucks as reference though because they are much larger animals than the whitetail we have. All 8 were shot with 120 grain A-max out of a 16.25" barrel from distances of 130 to 310 yards. All but two dropped where they were shot. Of the two that ran, one was at 140 yards and made about a 200' circle and died and the other was at 150 and walked about 30' before falling.

It is an excellent choice for deer.

I really like the Bergara Ridge in 6.5.

I am probably going to choke on these words as I type this but if I were going to buy a whitetail/common exotics hunting rifle for Texas today it would be either in 6.5 CM or 7mm-08 rem

Thanks guy I went and picked another new toy. My first 6.5 with a Leupold scoop. If I can ever figure out how to post pictures from my iPhone I will get on here.

I am actually in the progress of building a 6.5 prc......I plan on deer hunting and taking it up in the mountains for sheep. (Shot Placement is the Key)

I love 7mm08, but that's just me. The 6.5 C does it all.

If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

6.5 PRC is actually a very good cartridge

I bet if they renamed the .264 win mag the 6.5 win mag it would sell like hotcakes

Took a big Axis at 125 yards and he never took another step. Hornady Precision 143 grain. Great round for deer sized game. Accurate and low recoil. What’s not to like?
