I have posted pics of this buck through the years and here he is again. Rack is about the same if not smaller than last year and he is 9 or 10 years old this year. He had his best rack in 2016.

Old as dirt and may taste like shoe leather but his time has come.

He got the sway back and pot belly to go with the Roman nose. He ain’t no spring chicken.

At 9-10 you should let him live out his days

In all honesty I have never seen him while hunting. My buddy next to me has seen him a few times but with us only getting one mature buck a year he usually isn't high on the list. He is a trophy just because of his age though.

From the looks of the fawn, you had some rutting going on well into December last season. A little late for that part of the world.

I had a buck like that for 4 years. He was a typical 8 at 5.5 the first year and the last I saw him (on camera) he was a 6 and around 9.5. I would have killed him if I saw him , but only saw him opening day the first year I was on the new place. Had hundreds of pics of the years but he never again stepped out.

Go ahead and whack him. That old deer is a trophy.

The old man deserves to be harvested, eaten, and his antlers put in a place of observation.

Otherwise, he'll just eventually starve and/or be eaten by coyotes.
