Scouting a new patch of dirt yesterday, came across this stock tank...

Cool.
We used to keep large goldfish in our stock tank. When I was a kid, we probably had 50 or so and would fish for them with corn (Catch and release).

They wouldn't last long in my area. I have a little 18" deep, 3'x 4" pond in the back corner of my yard. Every few months I buy a few dozen of those two-inch long feeder goldfish from the pet store because the grandkids love to feed the fish. They only last about two months though. Sooner or later an egret checks out the pond and says, "HEY, GOLDFISH".

I have never seen a pond made out of a tire. Is the bottom concrete?

It appears to be just sitting on the ground. Must be good clay, water was spilling over but not creating a swamp.

I use river minnows in all our troughs. Gambusia keep the skeeter larvae in check. We've had the same broodstock for years. Works like a charm.
