Trim the reed at the bottom.
Take only small amounts off and try for tone.
Shorter the reed, the higher the pitch. Longer the reed, the lower the pitch.
When you place the reed on the tone board, wet the cork before sliding into place.
Make sure the cork is seated or you will not get the proper tone due to air leaks.
If you take too much reed off, that's OK. With the reed and cork in place, gently slid the reed upward on the tone board to fine tune.
If you need help, please reach out to me or stop by and I'll retune it for free.

Go to a fabric store like JoAnns and pick up a sheet of Mylar like this one. https://www.joann.com/no-melt-mylar-plastic-template-sheets/4793402.html If you have a set of calipers, take it with you, first measure the thickness of the reed you have, it should be .010, the Mylar you buy needs to be the same. I use Fiskars brand of scissors, there maybe better, but the Fiskars have always worked for me.
