My wife will someday learn not to let me in the kitchen. I can make giant messes.
I made some Cornish Pasties (hand pies) about a week ago for the first time in my life. I got the idea from the King Arthur Flour website. But like most always I started "fixing" the recipe before I ever tried the dish.
I chopped a lean roast, onion, potato, carrots, mild green pepper, jalapeno,
celery, turnip, and mushrooms. Next I filled the pastry dough with the filling and baked the pies. I made a brown gravy to serve over the pies.
I still had a big bowl of chopped filling after I filled my pies, so I added some beef broth and a can of whole tomatoes and made me a soup.
