My favorite.

Use your drippings with any good store bought sauce, add vinegar, sugar, and cayenne. Thank me later.

68rustbucket, yes I wrapped it. I don't always - depends how much time I have. This one went on a 9AM, wrapped at 155F and took it off 5PM at 200F. I'm not sure how long it was on at the point of wrapping. Smoker was at 250F.

Not one of my better ones but certainly tasty. I'm usually experimenting and that was the case here. None the less, thanks for the compliments fellas.

You can add a little panache after you have pulled them.

They are sold as pork butts aka Boston Butts. HEB has them on sale this week for a dollar per pound.

That looks delicious.

HEB has pork butts on sale this week, Sept 26, for $1.00 a pound. I know now what I will be doing for dinner Saturday night.

Luck favors the prepared mind.

You can make it in a crock pot. They usually weigh around ten pounds, not 5 to 6 pounds.

https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/235950/slow-cooker-beer-pulled-pork/

Paula Todora (Paula T) "My way of making pulled pork is simple: slow cooker, 1 can of beer, a 5 to 6 pound pork butt, seasonings, and a bottle of barbecue sauce. My beer choice is Shiner Bock®. My seasoning choices are salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. My barbecue sauce choice is Sweet Baby Ray's®. Just put it in a slow cooker before you go to bed and when you wake up the magic has happened. See for yourself. This recipe is perfect for a party, and you can even prepare 2 and feed around 30 people. Serve on onion or hamburger buns."

on our mission trip, I have done pulled pork in a roaster oven since I didn't have access to a BBQ pit or smoker.

14-16 lbs pork butts, 2-3 liters of root beer and a bottle of chipotle BBQ sauce, salt, black pepper and onion powder. Season pork and place in roaster oven (or a crock pot if smaller amount of pork will fit), pour in the the root beer & half of the BBQ sauce and turn it on 350 for about 7-8 hours. Drain off juices but reserve about a quart, shred pork with 2 forks, add remaining BBQ sauce and enough of the juices to desired texture. Will feed about 50 adults.
