How long after a rain to the birds get active again? I assume the puddles everywhere keep them from the ponds for at least a short while. Went last week on a clear morning after one of the storms and didn’t see a single bird. I KNOW THEYRE OUT THERE!!!!!

Sometimes they are active in the rain. If they have grain and water where they are they won’t move very far for awhile.

Saw tons of dove working a wet hay field the other day during a constant light rain.

Went yesterday in the dfw area and saw thousands of dove flying 100 yards high coming from the south headed back north. It was amazing to see. All flocks of 15-25.
They had too much rain down south.

Some of the guys from my group ended up going to Beeville over the weekend, even though they hunted under an EZ UP at times they absolutely hammered the birds all weekend long. Now the strange this was they only killed mourning dove, not one white wing or Eurasian to be seen.

2+ inches now forecast by Saturday afternoon in Breckenridge... They need it though. Good news is we can probably sleep in Saturday morning and catch some football. Hopefully Stompy has some afternoon birdies wanting to dry off.

I lived through too many droughts to ever curse rain.
