Have two feeders damaged by cows. Both seem to be able to work.
Problem. The wiring from motor to timer is broken in two.
What gauge wiring? It looks thin.
Is it aluminum? Just wire nut back together???
Thank you

It’s prob 16 ga wire or smaller. I would use butt splices to splice it back together.

16 would be plenty, very little amperage going from battery to motor.

I keep a roll of trailer wire.... not the cheap Chinese aluminum stuff though. I would use butt connectors... there’s a lot of vibration inside that housing...

I fixed it a couple days ago. Used cheap wire leftover from an outdoor light. Used wire nuts and electrical tape. With alligator clips.
I did make me a small bag with wire nuts, butt splice, electric tape and extra wire to keep at the place.

I carry a small tackle box that is my electrical box that contains butt splices, various other crimp m/f connectors, various size wire nuts, spare wire, wire strippers, side cutters, electric tape, etc. works like a charm in keeping things organized.

I've band aided them all sorts of ways over the years (not proper wiring, butt splice, crimp, electrical tape etc) twisting them together. Glad you got it fixed and made you a repair bag. Hint, I now have a pair a cheater glasses in repair kit and have been known to also purposely leave sets in the housing of motor/battery so they are right there when I need them in some poor lighting condition if need to read older timer units that have yet to be switched over to The Timer.
