The feeder time thread has got me thinking about putting a remote switch on my feeder. Often, I have does hoover all the corn up in the morning then the bucks come and go quickly with nothing on the ground. I don’t reallly want to throw 2 times in the morning because I don’t want the does sucking it all down again. Would the remote be worthwhile or worth the $100? Would it’s infrequent use help anything? Do they work as advertised?

I have "the remote" and it works well. Mine is at 100 yes haven't tried it beyond that. It does help pull deer closer if they cruise by early, check feeder and leave if no corn on ground.

My brother-in-law uses one and he claims it works up to 500 yards away. He also said his deer will stop on a dime and head right back to the feeder when he hits that button

I bought some off Amazon for 15 dollars each they were not advertised as feeder remotes but they work very well to about 250 yards.
Long Distance RF switch transmitter and receiver DC 12v 2 channel https://www.amazon.com/dp/b01g8b9pr8/ref=cm_sw_r

Would be pretty easy to wire one of these in:
https://www.amazon.com/Solidremote-12V-Universal-2-Channel-Transmitters/dp/B01JGDV8UM
Whole lot cheaper as well. If you aren't prificient wiring things, though ASF would be the fool proof method.

The Remote works really well especially when turkey or pigs come eat all the corn before the deer show up.

Yes, the remote controlls definitely work, but the doe will hear the feeder go off and come back in. Your best option is to pop a few doe for the freezer. It doesn't take them long to learn... just like the bucks.
