Found a large spider web I suspected to be by a black widow in an old tire at my granddad's. I found me a grasshopper and tossed it in. Sure enough this big girl came out for her last meal rofl One of the largest I have ever seen.

I put up a game cam once and 3 days later I checked it. Already had a black widow living behind it. I hate spiders.

I had one in my welding helmet today. I was watching the puddle and could see it crawling, I thought it was outside the helmet. Once I stopped I could see it was inside. I stood up so fast I hit a metal bar on top of my head. Never found that damn spider

I remember as a kid thinking they would kill you if bitten. Now I know that's not necessarily the case unless your allergic or something, but I find myself pondering how bad it is. Have them all over in the shop wood piles etc. and all the hell over at the ranch, just don't know if its a major thing or just like any other sting/bite.

Had one that size living in the electrical box at the last lease. Always felt like I was rolling the dice going to turn the power on at night when we got there. Never could kill that thing before it would retreat though an access hole.

My granddad has another place near Anson where he would take his fifth wheel and my mom said they were infested there to the point you would actually see several of them crawling around.

Buddy got bit twice in the deer stand and hurried home not knowing if he should go to hospital or not. By the time he did get home roughly 2 hours his chest was tight and having trouble breathing similar to a heart attack with severe back pain accompanying. He did not go to the ER due to he read on the interweb that if you get the anti venom for the widow bite then the snake anti venom will not be effective on a snake bite. Symptoms lasted about 10 hours. I did not research the anti venom myself so not sure if that is true or not about it's effectiveness.

Had a nasty welp after getting stung while camping by what I thought was a scorpion in my bed role. After 2 days the whelp was still about the same size, was tender as heck, and had a small yellow head on it. Went to have it looked at, kind of afraid it might have been a brown recluse. Doc said he suspected black widow since there was no signs of dead or dying tissue like from a brown recluse bite. A steroid shot and a week of antibiotics, good as new. Doc said most healthy adults that aren’t Allergic to the venom of black widows don’t have much to worry about.

We used to have a Fiddleback problem at our place in East Texas. Started spraying this stuff every coupla months. The only spiders/bugs we see now in the house are dead. I use it in the shed too for wasps, takes longer to kill than that $4 per can aerosol stuff but if you spray the usual nesting areas ahead of time, you have a lot less of em. Get it at the feed store, amazon, or ebay.

I got bit by a Brown Recluse on the forearm. It was ugly, rotting flesh running down my arm day after day. Just kept changing the gauze a lot and about 3 weeks later it was down to about a silver dollar size. I prayed alot and didn't have insurance so no DR. Had a couple nurse friends that begged me to get shots but it healed up fine over time.
