Recently bought a Garmin Oregon 600 at a really good price from the Bargain Bin at the Ft Worth Cabelas. What maps do y'all recommend that I buy to load on it? Is there a whole US map? Do they sell them for every state or are they regional? We go to Wyoming every summer so I need one for there too. Thanks for helping the technology challenged!
That's my $.02. Here's you're change!!

As far as I know Garmin uses their own maps.
Why don't we have time to do things right the first time, but always have time to do things over, and over, and over?

With that said Garmin has 24k topo chips and you can also create your own using googlemaps.

OnX and Topo 24 for better resolution. I also purchase Birdseye so I have satellite footage of the area I am at. Makes it super easy to see clearings/Meadows, stock tanks etc.

I have the same Oregon 600. Let me know how your battery life is. Mine pretty much sucks. Lucky if I get 4 hrs and I have done tried everything. Now I shut it off and only turn it on to mark a point.
I was going to go with onX maps but with the battery life it's not worth it to me. The mapping is amazing compared to my etrex but I've gone back to map and compass for the most part.

That is not normal. Are you certain you don’t have your “tracking” turned on in the background. I also always make sure my screen is locked before I put it in my pocket. I get way more battery life on mine than that.

I use the Birdseye. It is downloadable satellite imagery that I put on a micro SD. Make sure your screen is not staying on full time and turn the brightness down to save battery. I set the screen to turn off after 15 seconds to extend battery life.

Are these pretty intuitive to operate? Been thinking about one.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
