Sometimes a guy can have about all he can handle out hunting by himself. I have a homemade boat winch thing I built and can get the front half up near the tail light of the truck, but you still have to lift the rear end up and around the tailgate to get it loaded. I have gotten some that I had to remove the tailgate to get them in by myself as I couldn't lift the rear up into position. Age sure adds some difficulties to this stuff. I nailed this guy about 11:00 last night.

Maybe gut them first that will eliminate a quarter of the weight

I don't keep the large boars, just haul them to my bone pile and let the scavengers have at em'. I only keep meat off of a boar if it's under 100 lbs.

I actually have a bone pile where I dump all the carcasses...be they whole or the left over portions after I remove the legs. I have drug some there, but this place is about 1,200 acres and lots of small trails through the woods to get to the other end.

You can double it up so it doesn’t drag way behind the vehicle too. You know what’s best for your place though so keep it up.

I too am getting old and dragging/loading 200 pounds of hog anywhere is out of the question! I typically carry plastic bags for the backstrap and the hindquarters if there is any distance to go. I keep apiece of rope long enough to tie to the hog and put the other end on the trailer hitch, drag hog to usable tree, throw rope over tree limb, and use the truck to raise it up for cleaning.

Keep a 2x4 in your truck. Put one end of the 2x4 on the tailgate beside the hog and lift/push the back end of the hog onto the tailgate. You may need to use a rope tied to the right side of the truck to hold the end of the 2x4. Should cut your effort at least by half, if not more.
