Corn bags just got rained on here in Abilene. Will the corn be safe to put in my feeder tomorrow?

Can you pour it out into buckets and let it sit to dry out in the sunlight for a few hours. Even though the corn may not be really wet I bet there is still moisture that got on that corn. If you put it in the feeder now there is a good chance it will mold and clump together making it stop up the feeder

Save yourself the hassle and headache and DO NOT put this corn in your feeder. Even if it just drizzled for 5 min it’s a lost cause and you will find a moldy black mess the next time you go to fill. Would put aside for hog traps

What kind of bags...old style paper or the newer water resistant bags? I would open the bags up to see if they have any moisture in them and at least let them air dry in the sunshine. If they are wet then I would not take a chance.

They wont make it to the feeder anyway. As soon as you try to pick them up they will fall apart

Would pour them in the bed of the truck to dry if just the top bags and then into a container. How many bags we talking.

never ceases to amasze me by how many people try to reinvent the wheel..or feeder in this case..stay with the tried and true..buy good quality components and problems will be few and far between..Lord knows i still make them and learn the hard way..stay with metal and good quality slingers..12 volt perferably..having said this..accidents happen..also be careful on those ladders..especially if you fill by yourself!!

Putting damp corn in a feeder is a bad idea. Scrap it, buy new and keep the new batch under a tarp until you are ready to put it in your feeders.

A lot of replies here infer that it came a turd floater on those bags. It's really simple, paper changes color when wet (if the assumption is these were paper bags). If the inside of the bags weren't compromised by the rain, it's as dry as it was when it was bought.

I had some bags get rained on 3 weeks ago. I figured they were done. Bought another 20 and filled feeders. The ones that got rained on were fine. Not paper though.
